McCall’s Monday — Sunbonnet Sue DOW

Posted on September 26, 2016September 26, 2016 by Martha

Every one of these patterns needed to be completely redrawn. I enjoy the process but it’s slow — each design takes 30-45 minutes. Unfortunately, I only managed to get four done for this post, but the other three will appear next week. There are many other Sunbonnet patterns in earlier posts: Laura Wheeler 1509 and 1558 — Laura Wheeler 897 — Vogart 105 and Alice Brooks 7078.

Thank you so much Martha! It is funny that you posted these today because I have been looking for new Sunbonnet Sue patterns– just last night as a matter of fact. I really appreciate these.

You’re welcome, Joyce. I’ve just added links to several other earlier Sunbonnet patterns, in case you need more.

First click on each image until it is full size, then right-click the image (or control-click on a Mac) to save the .jpg file to your computer. Both Windows and Mac computers have built-in photo viewing software (Photos or Photo Viewer on Windows, Preview on Mac) that will allow you to view and print the images in whatever size you need for your project.

Martha, I have to tell you how thrilled I am to see these patterns. My mom passed away last fall at the wonderful age of 102, and I have three Sunbonnet Sue tea towels that she embroidered as a young girl. I will now be completing the set. It was so exciting to see her original patterns.
