These sweet little motifs are from newspapers dated 1909-1911. You probably won’t want to stitch them for their original intended uses (lingerie bags, handkerchiefs & corset covers), but wouldn’t they be perfect for a yoke on a baby’s dress, an apron pocket, or a little pillow. I especially love the “baby” motif which is so unusual. Click on the images to enlarge.
Those are very pretty! I have a bag of embroidered handkerchiefs that I picked up from a thrift store. They are so pretty and I think to myself “would someone really USE this?” It’s just too pretty.
Wow! The “Baby” motif is very unusual! Thanks for sharing these Martha! Hope your weather is better than ours (we have ice on the east coast).
Hugs,
Mickie
Love these designs Martha. I have used some designs like the basket on a Snowball baby quilt and the quilt was really pretty. I loved the added embroidery on it. Thank you for the patterns.
How very pretty! I love these designs!!
These are pretty! Imagine all the work that went in to embroider lingerie and corset covers! Times have changed! Happy week to you! xo Heather
