Toy Shop Window is a 1932 pattern by Ruby Short McKim. I have seen this quilt done in redwork, and also with multi-colored embroidery thread and crayon. The original pattern shows a set with alternate blocks quilted with a star pattern, but I have also seen a smaller version with the quilt blocks set straight. The designs for the blocks are shown below (click to enlarge); the complete pattern with instructions is available here.
This is a cute group! My favorite is the soldier lighting the cannon!
Love love love this one Martha, thank you so much – I think I’ll make it for mum next Christmas, she’ll love it too!
I love these old patterns.
Thank you Martha! These blocks are wonderful. I love the doll!
Thank you! I absolutely love the rocking horse!
My favorite is the Marionette and the Toy Soldier. This patterns are so lovely and classic like no other. Thank you so much for sharing. *=^_^=*
Love this! Thanks for sharing. For whatever reason, I’m into Ruby Mckim’s quilts right now and didn’t have this pattern, thank you! Hugs and hugs, hope to do this one for next Xmas!

These are wonderful!!!! I made a redwork Christmas quilt a few years back…I cheated and used my embroidery machine ( which I no longer have) to stitch vintage Christmas scenes:) It is one of my favorite quilts! THank you for sharing such wonderful patterns! So sweet of YOU:)) XXXOOO
