This booklet contains the Ferris Wheel pattern I used for this quilt top. In my experience, the templates in these books are accurate, unlike some of the vintage newspaper patterns. There’s not much in the way of instruction, but that’s part of the challenge.
Star of Bethlehem is the one tempting me!
We don’t see a lot of quilts done from the patterns that use templates. I guess most people go for the patterns that can be rotary cut? These are some wonderful designs. : )
After seeing your earlier post on this quilt, I was able to track down 5 books from these early editions on ebay for a bargain! I adore going through them, they have all sorts of information & I especially love the quilting patterns. Thanks for the tips & hints!
Thanks for sharing these booklets. I just love the applique booklet-particularly the morning glory pattern. I really love how in the 30s they would have applique patterns that looked “cut off”-and that’s a perfect example!
I have several old booklets and its totally true-you really needed to know what you were about before you could actually make one come out right!
I don’t recall where you are from or when the wedding is, but I hope the hurricane has not harmed you all in any way!
I have this booklet and a number of the other Aunt Martha booklets too. When younger I dreamed of making a quilt from one of these patterns. But I was stopped by the thought of templates, tracing, cutting, etc. I really do like my rotary cutter.
I think these booklets are still in print and still for sale.
