Grandmother’s Flower Garden Star Quilt – Week 4

Posted on November 3, 2010 by Martha

Contrary to my original plan, I decided to start sewing the stars and flowers together as I finish them.  I thought I would want to lay out all the blocks at the end, but found that I was itching to sew them together.  Honestly, I think with these sort of very scrappy quilts, it really doesn’t matter all that much, and it’s way more fun to see the top coming together.

I am having a lot of fun with this quilt.  It’s especially enjoyable to do a top with another person — I always look forward to checking out what Steffi has done.

I like the idea of attaching them while you sew. I’m loving it!!!

You’re off to a wonderful start! I think it’s fun to sew the sections together as you go? You can see your progress..and it keeps the project interesting? VERY pretty so far! 🙂

Wow, you are quick! That looks amazing! Shame on me, I was quite lazy this week.
The green flower was so familiar to me – look at this:

This is a fabric from the latest Windham Feedsack line. Now I know where they get their inspirations from. 😉
