Only four more rows to go — that’s 22 more embroidered squares. I still haven’t figured out what to do for a border, but I’m sure something will come to me. It would be fun to embroider a vine or something on a dark border. Although I’m still enjoying the stitching, I need to search for some more pattern ideas. A bird’s nest with eggs in it would be fun — I know I have a cute one in a coloring book somewhere — and maybe a pineapple.
Golly I can’t wait to see this done – it’s going to be beautiful! What a fun thing to do.
I love all the details in this piece. I could study it for hours – especially the baskets and bowls. So pretty!
Glad to see another update on this quilt Martha! You sure are good at picking just the right colours for each design. I really like the birds and butterflies among all the flowers. So pretty. I agree, a bird’s nest and a pineapple would look great there too! Maybe even a bird with a birdhouse if you have a pattern for one.
Either way it’s still looking great! It will be soooo warm and cozy when it’s done!
Wow, this is just beautiful! All of your quilts are just gorgeous and so inspiring! I found your blog today and reading it is brightening my day. 🙂
Found it! This is wonderful. Now you’ve given me some inspiration for the boxes of wool samples that are still sitting waiting for me. Where did you get the designs to stitch? Did you make these up? How long have you been working on this one? I love it! How do I sign up to be a follower on your blog? ~ Sarah
