Meet Elvis

Posted on June 13, 2010July 28, 2015 by Martha

For my birthday my son, Elliott, gave me a certificate for a kitten from the Humane Society. Business was brisk last Saturday when we stopped by — tons of people adopting pets, which was nice to see. There was only one very small kitten left, and we managed to fill out the paperwork quickly in order to be first in line for him.

Elvis is 9 weeks old now — he’s very affectionate and fearless (and so far, not a biter). This is his routine: run and climb around the house like a maniac for 30 minutes and then crash….maniac…..crash…..repeat. Lucy the dog (14) is tolerating him just fine (with a little extra attention for her) — Dinah the Cat (20) doesn’t like him at all, but she is Elliott’s cat and rarely leaves his room these days.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a kitten in the house, and Elvis is certainly keeping us all entertained.

Elvis looks like a real sweetie. I’m sure he’ll bring lots of joy to your family and hopefully even Dinah.

Oh so sweet! Glad to hear that you are having lots of fun with the new kitten. Somehow Elvis seems like the PERFECT name for him!

Sweet kitty! Sounds like a little bundle of energy who will bring lots of fun. Which Elvis is he named after though, Presley or Costello? 🙂

Elvis is so cute. I love tuxie kitties and especially love cute white toes. I hope Elvis keeps you entertained without causing too much chaos. I’ve been a lurker for a while and so enjoy that you share all the old/vintage patterns.

What a cutie! When we brought home a new kitty, our old girl thought he was the anti-christ, but she got over it and settled on ignoring. The ‘kitty maniac freakout’ is one of the funniest things! Congratulations on your new little family member!

I’m less than objective, but I think black and white cats have the best personalities! He’s a keeper (and what a nice birthday present!)
