Doll Quilt Blocks with Antique Fabric #4

Posted on February 2, 2010February 2, 2010 by Martha

Two more rows completed on this little top — and two more to go.  I’m not sure about some of my color choices and it’s very busy, but since this is only the second quilt I’ve made with this color pallete, I’m pretty happy with it. When making a doll quilt, I like the blocks to be scaled just like a large quilt, so I want them to be fairly small and intricate. This quilt top is currently 18 inches wide, but I will add at least one narrow border.

I put the Lockport Quilt Booklet in my downloads.  There are some nice applique patterns in it, but I’m sorry about the quality of the text — it was tricky to reduce the size and still manage to keep it readable.

I think it looks awesome, Martha! I love how each of the blocks has its own personality and would be fun to look at just by itself, but they still look so great together! Because you do scale it like a full size quilt, I have to continually remind myself of its size. It would be an impressive full size quilt – as a doll quilt it amazes me. And I’m really liking that sashing!

Gosh, it looks great! I agree that each block is interesting on its own, but they look so great together! I love the green and yellow one, but the pinks just make everything pop!

This is an amazing quilt. I don’t think I could work that small, but this is coming along beautifully!

This is the sweetest doll quilt I’ve seen in a while. So adorable! I love how you planned the proportions. Just cute!
Each block has so much charm to it. I could just sit and stare at them for the longest time 🙂
