Vintage-Inspired Victory Apron Giveaway

Posted on November 7, 2012July 28, 2015 by Martha

Now that our presidential election is finally over, I want to celebrate by having an apron giveaway.  Of course, I realize the victory referred to in this pattern has nothing to do with presidential elections, but I don’t care — they’re patriotic and so cute.  Although I don’t own this pattern, I’m thinking I can pull off a pretty good facsimile using the envelope photo.  I just realized those little stars are made with rick-rack — very clever.

So, if you live in the United States and would like a custom victory apron made just for you by me, simply leave a comment on this post telling me which one of the 3 styles you would prefer (the blue, white, or red/white stripe).  Comments will close at noon Sunday (November 11th), and if there’s more than one comment, I will use a random number generator to select the winner.  I’ll have your finished apron in the mail a few days after that.

Love the rick rack stars, I’m going to have to remember that! I love the white one and what a great way to celebrate the election.

What cute aprons, and how very generous of you to make one as a giveaway! I love the graphic qualities of the blue one. 🙂

Oh Martha, I love all three of the aprons, wouldn’t care which one you made! What a neat pattern, SOOOOo WWII.

We are hunkered down now waiting 3-6 inches of snow. I pray we don’t lose power again, but it seems likely since I noticed that some of the electrical boxes are just ducked tape right now (hey there is a LOT of damage here). As much as I dread it, I worry so for our neighbors in Jersey and New York. Not good, not good at all.

Anyway, have a great day and thanks for being so wonderful,
    Hugs, Mickie

The red/white stripe is my favorite, but everyone is correct – -they are ALL gorgeous and would love to have any one of them. Would also like any tips on construction. Thanks!

What a tough decision to make. If I had to choose then it would be the blue one. Thanks for the inspiration to make a vintage apron and the giveaway.

Oh wow! I made a miniature red/white/blue star quilt to accompany Vote day and special National Holidays. It would be wonderful to have an apron too. I like the white one! Stars and stripes forever!

I love them all but the red/white stripe is probably my favorite. Although that shield shaped pocket is calling to me. I think that could be turned into a neat quilt block very easily with just two pieces of fabric – a blue with white stars print and a red/white stripe. Yeah, I could do that. Thanks for the idea and your generosity in sharing these wonderful vintage patterns.

Oh goodness, they are all so special, I wear an apron everyday, grandkids always look in my pockets for special treats when they come over, and always comment on my apron, grannie you wore that apron last time we came over, they notice EVERYTHING!!! I know they would notice the red one!!!

Martha….. in all your patterns and such, have you ever come across an NRA? These beautiful patriotic aprons made me think of the prior decade and the National Recovery Act. It would be a blue eagle with the NRA letters. hahaha, no, not the National Rifle Association which called me solid for two months prior to the election.

Or, have you ever seen the NRA label in clothing of the period?
