Mother Goose Quiltie Pattern #19
Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater,
Had a wife and couldn’t keep her;
Put her in a pumpkin shell
And there he kept her very well.
Perhaps you never knew before how Peter Peter kept his wife in a pumpkin. Pumpkins aren’t big enough for houses, but this was a very large one, and Mrs. Peter Peter was a very small wife. If you can outline this as well as you can play it on the piano, you will have another fine Quiltie, and one that cannot get loose and run away.
Hahaha very funny–how perfect a choice for Pumpkin Season and a cute Halloween embroidery–my little granddaughters find this holiday a bit scarey a t2 and 3 yrs….hugs, Julierose P.S. they love wearing Grand-mere’s aprons that i won from you–they put them on to help me in the kitchen–
I love these Mother Goose drawings…so retro. But I am having a hard time seeing what this one is. I see the vague outline of a pumpkin, and maybe a head, but where is the wife and/or Peter? Thanks for sharing these.
She’s really stuffed in there — all I can make out are her bonnet and her foot.
